In Their Own Words
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee with experience working with individuals, couples, families, children, and older adults from diverse backgrounds, including the blind and low-vision community and military-connected individuals and families. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship concerns, life transitions, attachment, and adjustment to disability. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, creating a comfortable space where clients feel heard and can explore their experiences at their own pace. I would describe myself as empathetic, genuine, and easy to talk to. I want clients to feel comfortable being themselves and talking openly, even about things that may be difficult to share. I like to take things at the client's pace, while also helping them slow down, explore what they're feeling, and better understand themselves and the patterns in their lives.
Hi there! I'm Bri, a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee supervised by Wendy Barillas, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #133716. I'm dedicated to helping all individuals, couples, and families strengthen their relationships, navigate life's challenges, and build meaningful connections.
I am also deeply passionate about working with military members and their families. Having been immersed in the military community since childhood and now as a military spouse, I have a firsthand understanding of the unique sacrifices, transitions, and challenges that come with military life. I am dedicated to helping service members and their loved ones navigate the complexities of their journeys with strength, understanding, and compassion.
Before pursuing a career in therapy, I worked as a personal trainer, where I developed a deep appreciation for the powerful connection between the mind and body. I witnessed firsthand how physical health and emotional well-being are closely intertwined. Being part of my clients' journeys, celebrating their successes, helping them overcome setbacks, and providing consistent encouragement inspired me to expand my role in uplifting others.
My love for nature and exploring diverse cultures has shaped my belief in the value of open-mindedness, self-discovery, and holistic healing, which I integrate into my work with clients. I strive to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.
I look forward to helping you on your healing journey.
