01

In Our Words

Individual counseling provides a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with a qualified therapist.

At HOPE Counseling Center, we offer individual counseling services to help you cope with a wide range of challenges including life transitions, financial difficulties, the loss of a loved one, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviors, addiction, and more. Our experienced therapists have a range of expertise and provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights, and develop strategies to improve your well-being.

02

A Place to Work Toward Your Goals

Individual counseling offers room to understand what you are carrying and decide what meaningful change looks like for you. People may come to HOPE while navigating anxiety, depression, stress, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, trauma, financial difficulties, questions of meaning, adjustment to disability, emotional dysregulation, self-harm behaviors, or addiction.

What brings you in may feel clear, or it may be hard to name. You might notice familiar patterns in relationships, feel caught between competing needs, or want a place where you can slow down and understand your own experience. Your therapist can meet you there without asking you to fit a cookie-cutter mold.

More About This

Sessions can make room for your story, your present concerns, and the direction you want to move. Depending on your therapist and goals, the work may include exploring relational patterns, noticing thoughts and emotions, attending to how stress appears in the body, developing self-understanding, or finding tools that feel useful in daily life.

Megan brings a somatic, client-centered, and relational perspective informed by twenty-five years as a teacher and her experience as a parent. Eva integrates parts-informed, emotion-focused, attachment-based, and trauma-informed work. Sarah emphasizes trust, rapport, psychodynamic influences, and parts work. Tiffany focuses on relational patterns with empathy and personalized care. Other team members bring their own areas of experience.

03

Care Shaped Around You

We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach. Your therapist will work with your experiences, strengths, and goals at a pace that respects where you are. You remain the expert on your own life story, and the counseling relationship is a place to explore rather than a demand to arrive with answers.

Individual counseling is available to adults, teens, and children depending on the therapist. Our profiles describe who each clinician works with, their areas of focus, and the approaches they may bring into sessions. The therapist row below offers a place to begin comparing those details.

04

How Counseling Looks at HOPE

Counseling at HOPE is collaborative and shaped around the person, couple, or family in the room. We do not begin with a preset definition of success. Instead, your therapist makes space for what matters to you, helps you identify personal goals, and works with your experiences and strengths. You can talk about what feels difficult, notice patterns, and decide together where to focus.

Our therapists bring different backgrounds and approaches to this work. Some draw from attachment-based, relational, psychodynamic, parts-informed, somatic, emotion-focused, or cognitive behavioral perspectives. Trauma-informed approaches available within the practice include EMDR, Brainspotting, and Trauma-Focused CBT. Work with children and families may also include play therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. The approach used depends on the therapist, the client, and the goals you discuss together.

More About This

The relationship between client and therapist matters. Our team aims to offer a setting grounded in trust, collaboration, communication, and respect. You can ask questions, share what is or is not helpful, and move at a pace that respects where you are. Therapy can include honest conversation, attention to emotions and relationships, and practical ways of understanding what you are experiencing.
