Right Next Door in Roseville

Rocklin is a Placer County city that borders Roseville to the northeast, and HOPE's office is in Roseville, on Douglas Boulevard. Because the two cities are neighbors, coming in person is a short drive rather than a long trip. That closeness can make regular in-person counseling feel more manageable, especially when the rest of your life is already full.

Secure video is available as well. If you will be physically located in California during each session, you can meet with a HOPE therapist from home or another private place in Rocklin. Some people value the separation of a counseling room outside the house, while others prefer the familiarity of their own space, and either choice is welcome here.

More About This

Since Rocklin and Roseville are both in Placer County, you are reaching out to a counseling center in your own county. When you contact us, mention that you are in Rocklin and whether you lean toward the office or video. If you are not sure yet, that is fine, and the therapist who contacts you can help you sort out the next step.

If You Take Classes at Sierra College

Rocklin is home to Sierra College's Rocklin campus. If you take classes there, you may be balancing coursework with a job, family, a relationship or a new stage of life, and stress, anxiety or low mood can make all of it feel heavier. Counseling offers a place to slow down and sort through what you are carrying, at a pace that fits you.

You can reach out on your own, and individual counseling at HOPE begins with your goals rather than a preset plan. Among our therapists, Hanna Kunhart, a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee supervised by Wendy Barillas, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #133716, focuses on stress, anxiety, depression, communication difficulties and life transitions. Megan Sullivan, also a trainee under Wendy's supervision, works with personal growth and crises of meaning or purpose.

More About This

Cost can be a real question during college. HOPE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and making quality mental health services more accessible and affordable is part of its founding mission. Before your first session, we will go over current fees with you so you know what to expect, and you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate.

03

Couples, Families and Younger Clients

HOPE is not only for students. Couples in Rocklin can work on communication, recurring conflict or trust, and families can bring the strains that affect everyone at home. Children and teens are welcome too, and the office includes two children's rooms set up for play and connection.

Wendy Barillas, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #133716, is HOPE's Executive Director and clinical supervisor. She works alongside three registered associates and three marriage and family therapist trainees, and every associate and trainee is supervised by a licensed clinician. Each profile explains that person's title, focus areas and approach, so you can begin with real information.

More About This

If painful past experiences are part of what you want to work on, trauma-informed approaches are available within the practice. Wendy and Sarah Hausmann, a registered associate, use EMDR, and Wendy and Eva Di Giorgio, also a registered associate, use Brainspotting. You do not need to pick an approach before reaching out, and your therapist can explain the options.

How Counseling Looks at HOPE

Counseling at HOPE is collaborative and shaped around the person, couple, or family in the room. We do not begin with a preset definition of success. Instead, your therapist makes space for what matters to you, helps you identify personal goals, and works with your experiences and strengths. You can talk about what feels difficult, notice patterns, and decide together where to focus.

Our therapists bring different backgrounds and approaches to this work. Some draw from attachment-based, relational, psychodynamic, parts-informed, somatic, emotion-focused, or cognitive behavioral perspectives. Trauma-informed approaches available within the practice include EMDR, Brainspotting, and Trauma-Focused CBT. Work with children and families may also include play therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. The approach used depends on the therapist, the client, and the goals you discuss together.

More About This

The relationship between client and therapist matters. Our team aims to offer a setting grounded in trust, collaboration, communication, and respect. You can ask questions, share what is or is not helpful, and move at a pace that respects where you are. Therapy can include honest conversation, attention to emotions and relationships, and practical ways of understanding what you are experiencing.

05

Your First Step

A first step does not require having everything figured out. You can read our therapist profiles, or call or email us and we will help you find a good starting point. If you have a therapist preference, let us know. If you do not, we can help identify a good starting point based on the concern, who will attend, the way you would like to meet, and any language preference.

HOPE offers counseling in person at our Roseville office and by secure video for clients who are located in California during the session. Wendy offers counseling in English and Spanish. A therapist will contact you within 48 hours, Monday through Friday. Before beginning, you can ask questions and learn what to expect so that the next step feels clear.
