Loomis, Placer County
In a small town, privacy can matter a great deal. HOPE's Roseville office is a short drive from Loomis, and secure video lets you meet from home while you are in California.

01
Loomis is a small Placer County town northeast of Roseville, along Interstate 80 between Rocklin and Penryn. When you live in a small town, you may run into people you know in many corners of daily life, and it is natural to want counseling to happen a little apart from all of that. Wanting that kind of privacy is no reason to go without support.
HOPE's office is in Roseville, a short drive from Loomis, which gives you a place to talk outside your own town. Secure video offers a different kind of privacy, since you can join from your own home or another private spot, provided you are physically located in California for each session. You can choose whichever setting feels more comfortable.
Reading the therapist profiles before you reach out can help as well, since each one explains who that therapist works with and how they approach counseling. If you recognize a name and would prefer to work with someone else, let us know, and we will help you find a good starting point with another member of the team.
02
Counseling is confidential, though the law sets some exceptions, such as situations involving someone's safety. Before the work begins, your therapist will explain confidentiality and its limits in plain terms, and you can raise any small-town worries you have, such as what happens if you run into your therapist or someone you know. You are welcome to ask about privacy whenever it is on your mind.
Privacy also matters before your first session. Email, voicemail and the form on the Work With Us page are for brief contact and preferences, not clinical information, so please leave the details of what you are going through out of them. Those conversations belong with your therapist, in session.
If you are seeking counseling as a couple or family, privacy can look different for each person involved. The people participating can talk with the therapist about how they will join and what feels comfortable, whether that means sitting together in Roseville or connecting by secure video from a private space in California.

Each of HOPE's seven therapists brings a different background and set of approaches. At the center of the team is Wendy Barillas, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #133716, who directs the practice and provides clinical supervision. Sarah Hausmann, Eva Di Giorgio and Tiffany Senger are registered associates supervised by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Megan Sullivan, Hanna Kunhart and Brianna Rivera are marriage and family therapist trainees supervised by Wendy.
If you are looking for individual counseling, Sarah places a strong emphasis on trust and the relationship between client and therapist, and Tiffany helps clients explore relational patterns that no longer serve them. For families, children and teens, Eva and Megan both work across those groups, and there are two children's rooms at the office.
HOPE is a non-profit, founded in 2008, and making counseling more accessible and affordable is part of why it exists. We will go over current fees with you before your first session, so you know what to expect before you begin, and you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate.
04
Counseling at HOPE is collaborative and shaped around the person, couple, or family in the room. We do not begin with a preset definition of success. Instead, your therapist makes space for what matters to you, helps you identify personal goals, and works with your experiences and strengths. You can talk about what feels difficult, notice patterns, and decide together where to focus.
Our therapists bring different backgrounds and approaches to this work. Some draw from attachment-based, relational, psychodynamic, parts-informed, somatic, emotion-focused, or cognitive behavioral perspectives. Trauma-informed approaches available within the practice include EMDR, Brainspotting, and Trauma-Focused CBT. Work with children and families may also include play therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. The approach used depends on the therapist, the client, and the goals you discuss together.
The relationship between client and therapist matters. Our team aims to offer a setting grounded in trust, collaboration, communication, and respect. You can ask questions, share what is or is not helpful, and move at a pace that respects where you are. Therapy can include honest conversation, attention to emotions and relationships, and practical ways of understanding what you are experiencing.
05
A first step does not require having everything figured out. You can read our therapist profiles, or call or email us and we will help you find a good starting point. If you have a therapist preference, let us know. If you do not, we can help identify a good starting point based on the concern, who will attend, the way you would like to meet, and any language preference.
HOPE offers counseling in person at our Roseville office and by secure video for clients who are located in California during the session. Wendy offers counseling in English and Spanish. A therapist will contact you within 48 hours, Monday through Friday. Before beginning, you can ask questions and learn what to expect so that the next step feels clear.
