Danielle Hawker-Riele
Hello and Welcome! My name is Danielle Hawker-Riele and I currently have my Master’s Degree an am awaiting my Intern number, at HOPE Counseling Center, under the supervision of Darlene Davis #40875.
My view of therapy is that it is a strong collaboration between the client and therapist. My goal is to create a safe, warm, welcoming, and empowering environment for all of my clients. A place that you can open up without judgment. I am here to help you overcome and push through hardships, achieve your goals and reach your full potential.
My therapeutic style is an eclectic style. I incorporate various styles, theories and methods to fit each individual/couple/child/teen/family’s needs. My goal is to make therapy as helpful as possible for everyone!!
My Experience:
Throughout my experience I have worked with a wide range of individuals. I have experience working with young children, teens, adults, couples and families.
I have worked at a battered women and children’s shelter helping families, women, and children get through domestic violence and homeless hardships.
My experience has also included helping individuals overcome various addictions. I welcome all family members who are struggling with an addict in their life as well.
Couples: I have worked with pre-marital, non-married as well married couples. I have assisted in everything from communication, to sexual intimacy, to parenting styles and everything in between. I would like to help the couple find their “shared vision” of their future and assist them in reaching that point in their relationship. I also welcome all couples from the LGBT community!
Children & Teens: My experience has included children as young as five years old, and up to eighteen. I have worked with children and teens individually and in various therapeutic group settings. Art, play therapy and sand tray are important tools I rely on when working with children. I seek to form a significant therapeutic bond with the children and their parents/caregivers to assist the child in the best way possible.
Individuals: While conducting individual therapy I have assisted clients in healing in various areas of their lives including, but not limited to: self-esteem, trauma, abuse, depression, stress, OCD, Anxiety Disorders, life transitions as well as other areas of concern. Some of these challenges can be difficult to face so I focus on going as fast or as slow as the individual is looking for. My goal is to help these individuals work through the challenges they are facing and to find peace.
Addiction: I have also worked with young teens and adults suffering from various addictions. My experience has included individuals and their families effected by alcohol or drug abuse to promote self-sufficiency, health & wholeness. My goal is to help break the cycle of substance abuse and to assist my clients to moving on towards a more fulfilling life.
Codependency: When individuals or families have an addict in their life it can be extremely taxing on our mental health. My goal is to work with the individual, spouse, family of the addict and help them find peace within their own lives. To promote healthy boundaries and positive self-care. To also health some the past and make a brighter future!
Education:
I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, minor in Human Sexuality from San Francisco State University. I also have my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco’s. I have also graduated from Breining Institute with my certificate in Alcohol & Drug Counseling.
Professional Affiliations:
California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT) as well as the Sacramento Chapter of CAMFT.
HOPE Counseling Center offers low cost counseling based on a sliding scale and is extremely affordable!!
I can offer a flexible schedule also offering early morning appointments before work, and evenings appointments! I am available to work in both our Roseville and Midtown office.
