I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern, IMF #65054 with HOPE; Healthy Outcomes for Personal Enrichment Counseling Center.I am supervised by Darlene Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, MFC #40875. I work out of our Sacramento office; however, I am willing to see clients at our Roseville location as well.
My goal as your therapist is to help you successfully navigate through life's challenges and stresses. In today's society, personal as well as family stress is at an all time high. We will work together to ensure you can relax, cope, and heal. My theoretical orientation is rooted in systems thinking. This means that I view you and your challenges in context. You, those you surround yourself with, things that influence you through your unique environments of home, school, neighborhood, and/or work, as well as your culture all play a key role in helping you recognize your strengths and persevere through these difficult times.
Education: I received my Bachelor's of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis in 2002. I received my Masters of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy degree from Alliant International University in 2008, and am currently pursuing my doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University.
Experience: I worked as a counselor for five years at a residential treatment facility serving children and their families. The children were from 6 -12 years of age. I also worked at Child and Family Institute for my internship during my master's program. At Child and Family Institute, I worked with individuals, children, adolescents, families and couples from diverse backgrounds and a wide array of difficulties.
Areas of Interest: I am particularly interested in couples work in dealing with infidelity, child-rearing issues, bi-cultural issues, and marital conflict. I have vast experience in working with child behaviors, co-parenting, blended families, divorce, anxiety, depression, grief and loss.
